Mammography is the reference exam for breast cancer screening and diagnosis. It uses X-rays to detect anomalies sometimes invisible to the touch. It can be complemented by a breast ultrasound.

How it works
The breast is positioned and compressed for a few seconds between two plates to obtain quality images. The exam takes 10 to 15 minutes. The compression may be uncomfortable but is brief.
Preparation
Avoid deodorant, talc and cream on the day of the exam. Bring your previous mammograms for comparison. Prefer a two-piece outfit.
