Doppler ultrasound studies blood circulation in the arteries and veins. It screens for phlebitis, varicose veins, arterial narrowing and monitors circulation in the limbs and carotid arteries.

How it works
Like a standard ultrasound, with analysis of blood flow. Painless, the exam takes 20 to 40 minutes depending on the area examined.
Preparation
No preparation for venous or arterial Doppler of the limbs. Wear clothing that allows the area to be examined to be exposed.
